Getting started
Add your first site, make sure alerts reach you, and know what the dashboard is telling you.
1. Add a site
Sign in and press Add a site on the Overview page. Paste the address (for example https://example.com) and give it a name you will recognise in an alert. The first check runs within a few minutes; until then the site shows First check running.
Under What to check pick Uptime & broken links for a website, or Track price & stock for a product page (see Price Monitor).
2. Confirm you own it (Free accounts)
On the Free plan we ask you to prove each domain is yours within 72 hours, so nobody can watch someone else's site for free. If your sign-in address is on the same domain, there is nothing to do. Otherwise follow Verify your domain: one DNS record, a tag on your homepage, or a small file.
3. Choose where alerts go
Alerts go to your sign-in email by default. Open Alerts in the sidebar to add Telegram, Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams or a webhook. We only alert once a problem is confirmed, so one slow answer doesn't wake you up. See Alert channels and webhooks.
4. Read the dashboard
- The headline says whether every site is up and how many things are waiting for you.
- Things to review lists what needs a decision: a certificate running out, a broken link, a page that dropped out of Google. Mark each one done when you've dealt with it.
- Sites lists everything you watch. Open one for its uptime, response times, certificate and domain dates and its history.
5. Next steps

How often are my sites checked?
Every 5 minutes on the Free plan. The Fast checks add-on checks up to 10 sites every minute.
Do I need a card to start?
No. The Free plan watches 10 sites with no card. Add-ons each have a 7-day free trial, also without a card.
Why does my new site say First check running?
The first check hasn't finished yet. It usually takes a few minutes; the page updates by itself.
