Track your competitors' prices and stock, automatically
Pick up to five competitor product pages. OwlHound reads the price and stock status every hour and tells you the moment either one changes.
How it works
- Add the product pages. Paste the address of a competitor's product page — the exact page for the item you compete on.
- We read it every hour. We pick up the price and the in-stock status from the page and store each reading.
- You get told about changes. An email (and Slack or Discord message, if connected) arrives when the price drops or rises, or when the item goes out of stock or comes back.
- See the trend. Your dashboard keeps a price history chart for every product, and the weekly digest summarises the range and the number of price moves.
Built to avoid bad data
- Big price jumps are double-checked. If a price moves by more than half, we wait for a second matching reading before saving or alerting, so a page glitch doesn't trigger an "80% price drop" email.
- Currency and decimals are kept. Prices appear with their currency symbol and exact amount, not rounded.
- Honest failures. If a page can't be read, your dashboard says why — blocked, no price found, or unreachable — and we email you after repeated failures instead of silently showing nothing.
What works best
Price monitoring works best on independent and brand stores — Shopify, WooCommerce and most custom shops — whose product pages publish standard product data. Large marketplaces such as Amazon and Flipkart often block automated requests from servers; when they do, we tell you plainly and suggest tracking the same product on the competitor's own store. We don't try to bypass blocks.
Public pages only. We read the same product pages any shopper can open. We never log in anywhere or collect data that isn't publicly shown.
Frequently asked questions
How many competitor pages can I track?
Up to five product pages on the Competitor Price Monitor plan and on the Everything Bundle.
How often are prices checked?
Every hour.
Can you track Amazon or Flipkart listings?
Often not. Large marketplaces frequently block automated requests from servers. If a page is blocked we say so on your dashboard; tracking the same product on the competitor's own website usually works.
Will I be alerted when a competitor sells out?
Yes. Out-of-stock and back-in-stock changes trigger an alert, in addition to price drops and rises.
Is monitoring competitor prices allowed?
Reading public product pages is standard practice, and we only fetch the same pages any visitor can open at a polite rate. You remain responsible for complying with each site's terms.
