OwlHound API reference
Read your monitors and incidents, and add or remove sites, from your own scripts. One page per endpoint, with examples you can copy.
Endpoints
| Request | What it does |
|---|---|
GET/monitors | List monitors |
GET/monitors/{id} | Get one monitor |
POST/monitors | Add a monitor |
DELETE/monitors/{id} | Delete a monitor |
GET/incidents | List incidents |
Authentication
Create a key in your dashboard under Account API keys. The full key is shown once. Send it on every request as Authorization: Bearer ohk_…. A read-only key can list; a full key can also add and delete.
Base address: https://owlhound.com/api/v1. Requests and answers are JSON.
Limits and errors
60 requests per minute per key; over that, 429. Errors come back as {"error": "…"} with the status code: 401 missing or wrong key, 403 read-only key or no room on the plan, 404 not found. You only ever see your own account's data.
Alerts as webhooks
To be told about outages instead of asking, add a webhook address in your dashboard: see Zapier, n8n and Make.
Start watching your site in minutes
Free for up to 10 sites, no card, nothing to install. Read-only access you can revoke at any time — never passwords, never admin access.
