Show your status on your own website
Visitors see live status without leaving your site. Paste one snippet; it always matches your public status page.
Where to find your snippets
Open Status page in your dashboard. Under Show your status on your own website you will find ready-made snippets with your private status token already filled in. Every embed reads the same live data as your status page, so there is nothing extra to maintain.
Four ways to embed
- Script badge. One line,
<script async src="https://owlhound.com/embed/widget.js" data-token="…"></script>, shows a coloured dot and a message such as "All systems operational". It links to your full status page and refreshes every minute. Adddata-components="1"to list every site. - Embedded panel. An
<iframe src="https://owlhound.com/embed/…">shows the headline and each site's 30-day uptime. Add?theme=lightfor a light background or?sites=0for the headline only. - Image badge.
<img src="https://owlhound.com/embed/…/badge">is a small live badge for README files, footers and email signatures. - JSON feed.
https://owlhound.com/embed/….jsonreturns the status, message and per-site uptime for your own code. It allows requests from any website.
Good to know
- Accounts without white-label show a small "Powered by OwlHound" line. Agency and Bundle accounts do not.
- The token is the only secret: anyone who has it can read the same public status you already publish. Treat it like a public link, and ask us to rotate it if it leaks.
- If our servers are briefly unreachable, a saved copy of the panel, badge and feed is served instead, so your site never shows a broken box.
Frequently asked questions
Will it slow my website down?
The script is tiny and loads asynchronously. The panel and badge are served from a short cache.
Can I style it?
The panel has a light and a dark theme. For full control, read the JSON feed and draw your own.
Does it work behind a strict Content Security Policy?
Allow owlhound.com for scripts, frames or images, depending on which snippet you use.
