Is it down, or is it just me?
Enter a website. We look up its address and load it from our server in Mumbai, then tell you whether it answered, how fast, and with what.
Free, no signup. Up to 10 checks a minute and 200 a day. We keep each answer for 10 minutes and store nothing else.
OwlHound checks your site every 5 minutes, confirms each failure before alerting, and emails you the moment it goes down.
Monitor this automaticallyWhat this check means
A site can fail at several points: its domain name stops resolving, the server doesn't answer, or it answers with an error. If it loads here but not for you, the problem is likely your connection, network or DNS cache. If it fails here too, the site itself is having trouble.
Frequently asked questions
It's up here but down for me. Why?
Try another network, such as mobile data, and clear your browser's cache. Your internet provider, a VPN, a firewall or an old DNS answer can block one route while the site is fine.
What does a 503 or 502 error mean?
The site's server is reachable but not working: it is overloaded, being updated, or an app behind it has crashed. These usually need the site owner or host to fix.
How fast should a site answer?
Under a second is good. Over three seconds and visitors start leaving. One slow reading can be a blip, so check again before worrying.
